Faith restoration, peacebuilding, and trauma care are distinct, yet deeply connected. Together they help local churches respond to spiritual, social, and economic challenges with hope.

Faith Restoration

Lifting up struggling faith leaders.

Many faith leaders are overwhelmed caring for their congregations in the face of violence, disease, internal displacement, and an economy where most people live on less than $2.15 a day. They can feel that their own relationship to God is broken.

Through church-based Faith Restoration Workshops led by a Congolese pastor, leaders are supported as they regain confidence in the historic teachings of Christian faith, fresh purpose, and confidence to bring unity within their communities.

Peacebuilding

Resolving conflict within communities.

There are few effective government structures to mediate community conflict in the DRC. Home and land theft, domestic disputes, and disagreements over community assets can become the responsibility of victims and families alone.

Congolese leaders trained in multi-day Peacebuilding Workshops create Community Peace Committees that provide enduring dispute mediation and violence reduction. This is local people, empowered to keep their own peace.

Trauma Care

Healing the effects of gender-based violence.

War and economic instability have contributed to very high rates of sexual violence in the DRC, bringing lifelong pain and ostracization to victims. Trauma experienced by women and children affects the whole community.

Through partnerships with reputable local healthcare providers and ministry leaders, survivors receive screening, transportation, surgical and psychosocial treatment, pastoral care, income-generating assistance, and community reintegration training with family and churches.
